Alejandro Santos se incorporó al servicio de biblioteca y documentación del Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Barcelona en 2004 y desde 2011 es el responsable del mismo. El instituto siempre buscó el apoyo de este servicio para postularse en las sucesivas convocatorias de la ayuda "Severo Ochoa" hasta que la obtuvo en 2015 y ha seguido colaborando en el seguimiento y evaluación de la ayuda y ahora en su solicitud de renovación. La apuesta por una progresiva generalización del acceso abierto de su producción científica, con el archivo delegado y el asesoramiento al personal investigador, es un punto fundamental para la acreditación de la visibilidad y excelencia del centro.
Alejandro Santos joined the library and documentation service of the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona in 2004 and since 2011 he is responsible for it. The institute always sought the support of this service to apply for the successive calls for the "Severo Ochoa" aid until it was obtained in 2015 and has continued to collaborate in the monitoring and evaluation of the aid and now in its renewal application. The commitment to a progressive generalization of the open access of its scientific production, with the delegated file and the advice to the research staff, is a fundamental point for the accreditation of the visibility and excellence of the center.
