Agnès Ponsati

Licenciada en Filología Hispánica por la UB (1986) y Diplomada en Biblioteconomía y Documentación por la Universidad de Barcelona (1987), es la Directora de la Unidad de Recursos de Información Científica para la Investigación (URICI) del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (1994). Ha trabajado previamente en los servicios técnicos de la Biblioteca de la Universidad de Barcelona (1987-1990) en su Departamento de Catalogación y como responsable del  proceso de informatización y coordinación de las Bibliotecas del CSIC en Cataluña (1990-1993). También ocupó el cargo de Directora de la División de Procesos y Servicios Digitales  de la Biblioteca Nacional de España (2017-2018).

También es responsable de la puesta en marcha del Repositorio Institucional de acceso abierto del CSIC. En URICI, además, coordina los procesos de formación profesional de una plantilla de más de 100 bibliotecarios.

Ha publicado varios artículos (http://digital.csic.es) sobre  estos temas y ha participado en varios proyectos de ámbito nacional y europeo relacionados con la informatización de colecciones documentales, sistemas de conversión de catálogos, protocolos bibliográficos, discoveries y la puesta en valor de colecciones patrimoniales mediante la aplicación de las nuevas tecnologías a los sistemas de información.

Ha sido miembro de los Library Advisory Board  de Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, IOP, BRILL y de las siguientes organizaciones profesionales: REBIUN, EXPANIA, IGELU, SELL, LIBER, IFLA. Además ha presidido durante el periodo 2008-2010 la Comisión de Bibliotecas especializadas del Consejo de Cooperación Bibliotecaria del Ministerio de Cultura y ha representado a los consorcios de bibliotecas españolas   en el Consejo de Gobierno de SCOAP3 (2014-2017). También es miembro del comité ejecutivo de LIBER desde 2017 y de SPARC Europe desde 2018.


Agnes Ponsati has a degree in Hispanic Philology from the UB (1986) and a Diploma in Library and Information Science from the University of Barcelona (1987). She is the Director of the Unit of Information Resources for Research (URICI) of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (1994). She has previously worked in the technical services of the Library of the University of Barcelona (1987-1990) in its Cataloging Department and as responsible for the process of computerization and coordination of the CSIC Libraries in Catalonia (1990-1993). She also served as Director of the Processes and Digital Services Division of the National Library of Spain (2017-2018).

She is also responsible for the implementation of the CSIC Open Access Institutional Repository. At URICI she also coordinates the professional training processes of a staff of more than 100 librarians.

She has published several articles (http://digital.csic.es) on these topics and has participated in several national and European projects related to the computerization of documentary collections, catalog conversion systems, bibliographic protocols, discovery tools and setting in value of heritage collections by applying new technologies to information systems.

She has been a member of the Library Advisory Board of Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, IOP, BRILL and of the following professional organizations: REBIUN, EXPANIA, IGELU, SELL, LIBER, IFLA. She has also chaired during the 2008-2010 period the Commission of Specialized Libraries of the Council for Library Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and has represented the consortiums of Spanish libraries in the SCOAP3 Government Council (2014-2017). She is also a member of the LIBER executive committee since 2017 and SPARC Europe since 2018.
